Terry Kenard Barnes is a Black, queer photographer, filmmaker, and producer born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. Their work preserves cultural memory through images that that tell stories, honor identiy, and affirm community.
A graduate of the Baltimore School for the Arts and Parsons School of Design at The New School, Terry’s multidisciplinary foundation in theatre, film, and visual storytelling informs their narrative-driven approach that blends creative direction with a deep sensitivity to people, place, and purpose.
As a producer on film and photo sets, Terry is known for building environments rooted in care, clarity and collaboration.
Creatively, Terry has developed short films like BodyMore and live cultural productions like Harlem Parade. Their independent films and visual projects are bold expressions that archive the life of their community through art.
